Kaguya Haruyama-Kaguya is a high school girl with dark black hair and blue eyes. She lives in Tokyo but has no recollection of her past except for a fire and a boy named Kagami, that turns out to be her brother, who helped her out of the fire. She was said to be an orphan in a great war and was adopted by a japanese family. However, in the beginning of the story, she is kidnapped by Prince Seeu and his doll Organic Gold and taken to another demension where she befriends Shiina Mol Banvivire or Bambi. She learns that she is the Legendary Princess Kaguya of the Ananai and is destined to choose only one Earth to live while the others will be destroyed. She is programed with a language chip and therefore can understand the different languages of the different Earths. From the experience with Kagami and the fire, Kaguya vowed that she would one day be strong so she could be depended upon by others. The Great Sage Meshie refers to her as the Princess of the Choosing. As the story progress we learn that the role that Kaguya plays in the choosing becomes more and more crucial. Her position as Princess of the Choosing has made her a target by Emperor Kura. Kaguya desperately tries to find a way to save all of the worlds, and as a result proposes a challenge: The person who comes up with a plan to save the most people will be the person to whom she will form her alliance with. Later on, Kaguya learns that she actually is not the Princess of the Choosing, but rather, a myth concocted by her brother and the Great Sage Meshiein order to instill hope to the people. Kaguya learns that she is originally from the First World Ancient whose civilization died out a long time ago. Both she and her brother Kagami are decendents of the Blue Clan, Weimar. At the end of the story when everyone makes a pact to destroy the world Ancient, Kaguya decides to stay in the alternate demension with Seeu and her son.

Princess of the Choosing-The Princess of the Choosing is Kaguya. She was said to have had a brother named Kagami in the past. According to the Great Sage Meshie, she is the youngest entity in the universe because she was born after the end of all things or at the end of the destruction of the universe. Because of this fact, the universe doesn't know that she exists and therefore will not come to seek her death. The planets, beings and stars of the universe are unaware of her exisistence. She is said to posses a more heightened sensitivity and set of perception than others. Later in the story, it is explained that the Princess of the Choosing is actually a myth, and that she was created by her brother and the Great Sage Meshiein order to instill hope to the people.

Gold-Gold is Prince Seeu's doll. He is the current possesor of the five living weapons, Organic Gold. He posses the soul of Kagami who fought in the great war 300 years ago and belongs to no one Earth. He occasionally is able to talk to Kaguya but obeys the commands of Prince Seeu. He is also one with the Jewel Gemna that Sereus Val Ragunahaan gave to Prince Seeu for safe keeping. In addition, since Organic Gold is also a living weapon, Gold has the power to transcend time and space.

Kagami-Once a fighter in the great war that took place 300 years ago, Kagami was the owner of one of the five living weapons, Organic Gold. He was friends with Prince Seeu and had met his sister Kaguya on certain occasions. He however died in the great war only to have his soul put into one of Prince Seeu's dolls, who is now Gold. He possibly possessed a talent of seeing the future. Since Kagami was the keeper of the Organic Gold, he has the power to transcend time and space.

Sheena Moru Banivirie or Shina/Shiina Mol Bamvivirie "Bambi"-[[variations of the name may vary. please see the "Pronunciation Guide" for more information.]] Shiina, or Bambi-chan which is what Kaguya likes to call her, is the heir to the Ragunahaan legacy. She is noted for having silver hair like her relative Ragunahaan. She is destined to wield Pyro, one of the five living weapons, and is sister to Sarita. She owns Nadja the horse from where she got from the Ninth World. She used to live in a castle on the Fourth World of Terenee until she was forced to flee due to Emperor Kura's search for a new harem. She is very beautiful and had her relative Ragunahaan frozen beneath the ground under her castle. She is smart and posses some sort of a chip that makes her incrediebly intelligent. She is the one whom Kaguya flees with only to turn herself in to the Emperor of the Fifth world. When Kaguya is taken by Prince Seeu, Shiina vows to remain cold and ruthless until she is once again reunited with Kaguya. Towards the end of the chapter, it is said that she was once with Deimion Shume.

Idou-Once a Bishop of the Eigth World Asuraitsu he now works for Emperor Kura. He posses one of the five living weapons, the Zenith Crio, and has fought alongside of Prince Seeu in the great war 300 years ago. At the end of the story, it is told that he past away saving Kura's life from an assasin.

The Emperor Kura Hidden-Owner of the Nukeslight one of the five living weapons, Kura fought in the great war 300 years ago. He is currently the Emperor of the Seventh World, Geo, for 300 years and wants to marry Kaguya in order to ensue that his world will be "saved". He was close friends with Rugunahaan of the ninth world and believed that the people of the ninth world caused his death. As a result after his death, Kura exterminated all the people's of the ninth world which now no longer exists.

Sereus Val Ragunahaan or Lagunahaan-[[variations of the name may vary. please see the "Pronunciation Guide" for more information.]] Ragunahaan is the owner of the Pyro one of the five living weapons. Like the owners of the other living weapons, he fought alongside them in the great war. He had no offspring except for maybe Shiina Mol Bamvivrie who may be a direct or distant relative and Sarita who was the result of a fertilized egg that Emperor Kura ordered to be thawed. He used to live in the ninth world and Idou had said he had the ability to rule however he became more withdrawn from his world after he became the owner of the Pyro. He was close to Emperor Kura and Ragunahaan's death was the reason why Kura destroyed all of the ninth world people's. He had been frozen beneath the castle where Shiina lived on the fifth world however she flooded it and Emperor Kura eventually found it. Pyro has tried to revive him but he has no heart.

Prince Seeu-Prince Seeu or the Mad Prince Seeu as he is known now, is the owner of one of the five living weapons, the Lunato Mercury. He was once friends with Kagami during the great war in which he fought but then he was thought mad when he transferred Kagami's soul into a body of a doll after Kagami was slain in battle. He currently has in his possesion Kaguya in his castle on the Second World Asu. Seeu was born and grew up inside of that castle but was sealed up because everyone on the planet was contaminated by a bacteria and he was the only healthy one. He was friends with Takeyoshi Waseda. Even at a young age he never experienced the touch of a live human being because he was always serviced by dolls and those who had come to see him within the veil of his castle were heavily draped in plastic so that way the Prince would not be contaminated. He is noted for his red hair and had at an early age devoted his efforts and the efforts of others into making a doll that can host a living soul. Prince Seeu's memory is at most scrambled to him where bits and pieces of it flash before him. We later learn that Ragunahaan entrusted the Gemna to Prince Seeu who then in turn locked it within Kagami.

Takeyoshi Waseda-From Tokyo, Japan, Take-san fell into a rift between demensions and landed on the Second World of Asu where he met Prince Seeu. He like the others of that planet, devoted their efforts into finding a way to create a doll that will host a living soul. He succeeded in making a huge chicken in the process. Take-san seemed to like Serenanede. He like the others of the Second World was contaminated with the bacteria but his ailments took place after everyone on the planet died except for Seeu. On his last night before he died he was pierced by the Lunato Mercury and when he lay dying, he fell upon the device that had held the Lunato Mercury and wished that his soul may enter that device. Instead however, his soul was projected into his giant chicken. He was later captured by people who wished to plunder the treasures of Asu and sold to a circus until he was found by Kaguya and set free.

Sam-Kaguya's best friend from school. She was the last one to talk to Kaguya before she "mysteriously vanished".

Kaguya's Mom-A 42-year-old stay at home mom. She took Kaguya from an orphanage. She likes to treat Kaguya as her own doll and mentally is not all there. However, she does love fortune telling which is Kaguya's speciality.

Kaguya's Brother-Kaguya's older brother who knows his mom is not quite there, likes Kaguya very much. He thinks however that Kaguya is weak and sees what his mother is doing to Kaguya. He wants Kaguya to be strong and stand up for herself.

Kaguya's Father-Kaguya's father works in a bank and makes lots of money. He at the beginning of the story was arrested for bribery.

Sarita-Sarita is a ninth worlder under the custody of Idou. Sarita was the result of the thawing of fertilized eggs from the ninth world. She has short silvery hair and is the sister to Shiina Mol Banvivire.

Katorasu-One of Idou's soldiers who got his arm cut off by Prince Seeu when trying to obtain Kaguya.

Harli "Harry" Laracott-The Sage of the Forbidden Comet's Messenger and relative who discovers Kaguya in Prince Seeu's palace. He also resides on the Second World, Asu.

Sage of the Forbidden Comet Meshie Raracotto/Laracotte/Laracott-[[variations of the name may vary. please see the "Pronunciation Guide" for more information.]] This Sage is the relative of Harli Laracott and resides on the Second World, Asu. He was the one to gather the owners of the five living weapons to fight in the great war. He now helps Prince Seeu but is also still like an enemy of him.

Sage of the Forbidden Shooting Star Gaviesu Ebira-Rumored to be living in the fifth world, the Sage of the Forbidden Shooting Star was also present when the owners of the five living weapons were there. He himself dressed in drag and changed his name from Gaviesu to Gaviera out of humor.

Sage of the Forbidden Consumption Didius Dee-She currently resides on the seventh world of Geo where Emperor Kura rules. He is now the Sage of Destruction because he would only talk about the destruction of people, places, anything as long as it had to do with their deaths or their end. Kura became so fed up with him that he ordered his lips sewen together to keep him from talking about the destruction of everything. He is the Gatekeeper of Knowledge. He listened to no one and never answered any questions. He spoke day after day without any logical connection.

Nadja-The name of Shiina Mol Banvivire's horse. This horse is unique and sweats a red liquid that is often mistaken as blood. The horse is a ninth world creature.

Serenanede-A Second World citizen of Asu who serviced to the needs of Prince Seeu when he was a child. She also had a thing with Takeyoshi Waseda. She died as the result of the bacteria.

Deimion Shume/Shumeh-[[variations of the name may vary. please see the "Pronunciation Guide" for more information.]] A Seventh World citizen of Geo who is the envoy of Emperor Kura but who also holds the Nox Light, the living weapon of Emperor Kura. His strength is a copy of Emperor Kura's and he is one of Emperor Kura's most trusted men.

Song Princesses-The Song Princesses are three princess who all look alike and are half feline. They are the first to reach Kaguya and tell her about her destiny. She warns her of Prince Seeu when he appears.

The Blue Clan, Weimar-Not much background is relayed in the series about these people, however, Weimar, the Blue Clan, were a clan of people who lived on the First World Ancient a long time ago. The Weimar family were rare people of the protectorate, and in the current day only around 1200 are still alive. Both Kaguya and Kagami are decendants of this ancient clan. There is also the connection between Kaguya's heritage and the type of chip that was implanted in her. Kaguya's chip is considered far more advanced than the others, and it may be contributed to either being the decendent of Weimar or her originations in the First World Ancient itself.

Pronunciation Help Guide

I've added this special section to clarify the reasons behind the different spellings in the manga. Most of the variations of the spellings are present in order to help the reader pronounce the names correctly.

Romanized Japanese Pronunciation: A Quick Guide
R. Japanese English Equivalent
i e as in "eat"
r L as in "land"
e eh like the e that is in "beth"

(1)Sheena (2)Moru (3)Banivirie or (1)Shina/(1)Shiina (2)Mol (3)Bamvivirie "Bambi"
 1. Reguardless of being spelled "Sheena" or "Shiina" they are pronounced exactly the same. "Shiina" is in Romanized Japanese form while "Sheena" is the spelling of the pronunciation of "Shiina".In Romanized Japanese the letter I is pronounced as an E like the E in Eat.
 2. In the case of "Moru" and "Mol", "Moru" is the Romanized Japanese version while "Mol" is the spelling of the pronunciation of "Moru" where the R in Romanized Japanese is pronounced as an L.
 3. The spellings of Banivirie and Bamvivirie may be varied due to an error in translation from Authentic Japanese Writing (Kanji) or just a misprint. In either case they are both pronunced slightly different from each other.
Sereus Val (1)Ragunahaan or (1)Lagunahaan
 1. Again as in "Shiina" the R sound does not exisit in the japanese pronunciation, but is replaced instead by an L. Therefore the R "Ragunahaan" is pronounced as a L in "Lagunahaan", where "Ragunahaan" is the Romanized Japanese version and "Lagunahaan" is the spelt like the pronunciation of "Ragunahaan".
Sage of the Forbidden Comet Meshie (1)Raracotto/(1)Laracotte/(1)Laracott
 1. The "R" in Raracotto is pronounced as an "L" like in "Laracotte" and "Laracott." The difference in the ending however, may be due to an error in translation from Authentic Japanese Writing (Kanji) or just a misprint.
Deimion Shume/Shumeh
 1. The e in "Shume" is pronounced as eh as it is spelt in "Shumeh."
